Monday, December 3rd, 2007 - Bubbas Birthday
This weekend we had a chance to meet Dylan and Byrd, who's wedding we are photographing next year. Dylan asked me if I would come and take some photos of her, her mom and Grandma (Bubba) for a birthday gift. It was her Bubbas 80th birthday! We had such a wonderful time with these guys and I am pretty sure we laughed from start to finish. We cannot wait for their wedding next August.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunday, December 2nd, 2007
Back in April, Jess and I had the pleasure of photographing Cynthia and her three sisters, who were all expecting around the same time. We were so excited when she contacted us again to come and photograph her new little one, along with the rest of her family for the holidays. Here are a few of our favorites!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Monday, November 26th, 2007 - Grant Girls
This past Sunday I did some photos of Laura and her little sister Sarah, who look so alike. Sarah, who is five, could not stop posing and told me that when she grows up she is going to be on Americas next top model. :)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunday, November 25th, 2007 -
Jess and I had a chance to spend time with Janice and Jay, whos wedding we are photographing in October of next year. Janice wanted some photos to give to her parents of her, her sister and their families. Little Rachel was the cutest thing and had us all laughing the entire time. She was such a happy girl and it was so apparent that she is very loved. We walked around Allan Gardens, which is so beautiful and the perfect spot when it starts to get cold, took photos and sang songs. At the end of the shoot, I had "Down By the Bay' stuck in my head for a few hours. We had so much fun and cannot wait for the wedding in October!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday, November 24th - Chris & Brittney
I was asked last week by my friend Chris, if Vanessa and I would come take some photographs of him and his girlfriend Brittney, as his gift to her for their year and a half anniversary.
We both had a really fun time hanging out with the two of them. They are just so happy to be around each other and it totally shows. Congratulations on your anniversary guys!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Friday, November 23rd, 2007 - Samien & Pia
This Friday we spent the morning with little tikes, Samien and Pia. Samien is just two and Pia is coming up on her third week in the world, so her mom wanted some nice photos for the holidays. Samien had so much energy and was running around non stop but it was not until he discovered my hat that he stood there and posed for photos. We played with the snow outside and he showed me where the airplanes are (up!) Little Pia was so funny and for about 20 minutes she just lay on her blanket and looked around so quietly and calmly, which was so perfect for photos. They were both too cute!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tuesday, November 20th - The Campbells
A few weeks ago, Jess and I had the chance to head up to Aurora for the afternoon and hang out with the Campbells. Their mom had contacted us saying that it was so rare and almost impossible to have all her kids in the same place at the same time but that an event was coming up that was bringing the whole family together. They were all such great and talented kids (well most of them wern't really kids!) from athletes, actors, photographers and scholars. We had a really wonderful day to say the least and also had a chance to snap some photos of their other furry 'family members' who happily followed us where ever we would go.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Monday, November 5th - Dallas & Leah
Vanessa has been telling me I should post this photo of Dallas and Leah for a while now. I took it way back at the beginning of February. I was supposed to be doing photos of just Dallas on his own but I couldn't resist getting a few of them together. They are so adorable when they are around each other.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday, November 3rd - Laura & David
Jess and I had the long awaited pleasure of photographing Laura and Davids wedding a few weeks ago. We had a chance to do an engagement session with these guys back when it was nice and warm outside and were really looking forward to their date. We knew how important the photography was to them and we were really excited to capture some wonderful and memorable images (which we cannot wait for them to see!) They got married at Oakview Terrace and even through the rain kept on all day long, we got some really great shots. These two even braved the wild and went out for a bit, even without an umbrella as the grounds were so beautiful. These are some of our favorite shots from the day.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunday, October 27th - Matthew & Amelia
Last weekend I had the chance to head to Sherwood Park with my friend Andreas and his two little munchkins Matthew and Amelia. I have known Matthew since he was just a little peanut and he is getting so big now. Amelia is the newest addition and she is probably the cutest and happiest baby there is, always laughing and smiling about something.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday, October 27th - Kris & Celia
Jess and I photographed the wedding of Jen and Terry this past summer and has a chance to meet their wonderful friends and family. As a surprise gift to Jens brother Kris, Jen had me come photograph a party at her parents home for Kris and his Fiancee Celia, who were getting married the very next day. They had lots of friends and family visiting from out of town so I thought it would be a nice idea to bring a tiny studio set up and do fun portraits of them with everyone. I had so much fun with the set up and thought it was such a great gift idea.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunday, October 7th - Tory
After the last wedding Vanessa and I shot for Scott and Melinda in Winnipeg, I headed back to my hometown of Dauphin Manitoba to take a little vacation. It worked out very well since in this one weekend it is Thanksgiving, as well as my Dad, and Grandpa's birthdays.
Now as anyone who has checked our blog in the past knows, every time I come home to Manitoba to visit family, I wind up taking photos of my little niece Tory and this time was no exception at all. Shes so hilarious now that shes kind of learning how to talk. When I say kind of, I mean she mumbles a lot more jibberish than last time I was home, but occasionally spits out an actual word or two. Yesterday my Dad said she called him Grandpa which he was pretty excited about.
Here are a few photos I took of Tory the other day.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- September 30th - Melinda & Scott
We were in Winnipeg this past weekend for the wedding of Melinda and Scott. The weather was absolutely PERFECT and fall is in full effect so there were the most beautiful leaves everywhere. Spending the morning with the girls was so much fun as it was full of singing and dancing and as Scott comes from a musical background, their wedding was filled song. Scotts brother Murray played the guitar while walking down the isle and Melinda's sister and friends sang a song. These two had such a unique ceremony, bringing dirt from their garden to have their family members help them plant a bulb which they can put back to grow. We spent the rest of the afternoon traveling around town to different locations to do photos and Melinda told Jess and I that we were their "photo soulmates!" It was the cutest thing! We had a wonderful day with these two and were so happy we could fly to spend it with them!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Monday, September 24th - Wendy & Stephen
Yesterday, Jess and I had the pleasure of spending the day with Wendy and Stephen. We had a chance to meet Wendy a few months ago but her fiance Stephen lived in the UK and we were not going have a chance to meet him until the big day. They decided to get married in Toronto where Wendy lived but were then packing up and moving overseas. Wendy told us that one of Stephens favorite things about Toronto was the streetcars so we wanted to make sure that we incorporated that into their day. When we met up, it was clear that Stephen had the same idea as he was well equipped with tokens. After shooting in the distillery we headed to King Street and caught a streetcar ride to their reception at the Rosewater Supper Club. There they held a tea ceremony and Wendy surprised Stephen with a traditional dragon dance, where the bride and groom fed the "dragons" a head of lettuce on what looked almost like a fishing rod. It was so much fun to watch!
Also a big thanks to Melissa at One Fine Day for helping us out and making sure the day ran smoothly.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wedensday, September 18th - Johanna & Jonathan
Jonathan and Johanna are so totally cool. They got married this past Saturday morning at the Estates of Sunnybrook and despite the sounds of thunder and the rain prior, the sun shone down on us. They had cocktails and a brunch following and then everyone headed to the couples home to hang out and barbecue. Jess told me this is how he wants his wedding to be. :) We had such a great day with these two!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunday, September 9th - Magally & Tim
We were in Ottawa again last weekend for the wedding of Magally and Tim. These two booked us over a year ago all the way from Orlando and we have been really looking forward to it ever since. After many emails and phone conversation about ideas we were so excited, especially after Magally asked me if we thought it was crazy if her and Tim jumped on a bike right after the ceremony (which was the absolute greatest thing ever!) The ceremony was so wonderful as it was conducted by Tims father who surprised the couple in a few different ways and their reactions were absolutely priceless. The reception was held at a beautiful bed and breakfast right down the street and their lovely wedding planner Stacey at Marry Me Productions did such a fantastic job with all the details. We had such a great day and Jess and I even had a chance to have a dance at the end of the night where a passing guest told us, "There is nothing better than two photographers in love!" :)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Monday, August 27th - Courtney & Rahim
I am so excited about this post! We shot Courtney and Rahim's engagement party just over a year ago and it was the first thing Jess and I shot together for boyfriend/girlfriend. It was so nice to look back and see what we have done just over a year later and to celebrate with this couple was sort of like an anniversary for us!
Courtney and Rahim got married on Saturday just outside of Ottawa. This was such a great day and so interesting as they both come from such different backgrounds and found a great way of combining the two. They are both wonderful people and have such love and respect, not only for each other but also everyone around them. They are truly two of the kindest people we have ever met and we are so happy that they chose us to be there from the start.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunday, August 26th - Francesca & Rey-an (and Toby!)
This past weekend Jess and I were in Ottawa for a wedding, so we had a chance to meet up with Francesca, Rey-an and their little guy Toby. These two are getting married in Toronto next year but wanted to do their engagement photos in Ottawa so it worked out perfectly! We had a lot of fun and ever since this shoot I am continually telling Jess how much I want a dog...we'll see! :)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday, August 18th - Beach Babies
I am currently on vacation in Vancouver and having such a great time. The weather out here has been so nice and it has only rained once this entire two weeks! The sun is out almost every single day but there always seems to be a period during the day where we get wonderful cloud cover and perfect light! Last week I had a chance to head to Crescent Beach in White Rock and do some photos of Brent, Tram and their two adorable little munchkins! Enjoy! - Vanessa
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tuesday, August 7th - Naushin & Andrew
We spent the long weekend celebrating with Naushin and Andrew and had such a blast! We joined them once again on Sunday at Parkwood Estate in Oshawa for their ceremony and outdoor reception. The location and decor was beautiful and all the details were so personal and sweet. Naushin was an absolute doll and Andrew made us laugh all day. We had a really wonderful time, as did everyone there.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday, August 4th - Pre-Party
Yesterday we had the chance to be at part one of Naushin and Andrews three day long celebration. They were both a ton of fun and we cannot wait to be at their wedding tomorrow!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- August 2nd - Puppy Posing
Yesterday, just as the sun was going down, we had a chance to do some photos of Amanda, Jonathan and the newest addition to their family, Clio. She was oh so excited to be outside and amongst all the other puppies and it took many treats to get her to sit and pose for a few photos. These are some of our favorites.
